Institute of Medicine offers a large number of academic courses in different disciplines of health sciences.

 

Maharajgunj Campus

 

Majority of courses, ranging from certificate to post-graduate levels, are offered at Maharajgunj campus of the Institute. Maharajgunj campus conducts three certificate levels, six bachelor's levels (MBBS, BPH, BMLT, B.Sc. RT, B. Optom. and B. Pharma) and 16 post-graduate levels (MD in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Anesthesia, Psychiatry, Pathology, General Practice, Radiology, Ophthalmology and Dermatology and MS in General Surgery, ENT & Head and Neck surgery, Orthopedics, M. Phil in Clinical Psychology and MPH in Public Health and M.D. Human Anatomy, M.D. Physiology, M.D. Pharmacology, M.Sc. Clinical Biochemistry, Master in Medical Laboratory Technology) Courses. In addition, M.Sc. courses in Pediatrics, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Surgery, Otorihinolaryngology and Radiology have also been conducted in the academic session of 2003-2004.

 

Nursing Campuses

 

Maharajgunj Nursing Campus in Kathmandu conducts Certificate to Master’s level courses (PCL in Nursing, Bachelor and Master in Nursing). The nursing campuses in Biratnager, Birgunj, Pokhara and Nepalgunj conduct only Certificate level course.

Ayurved Campus

 

This campus operates through its buildings at Kirtipur, and conducts BAMS course.

 

 

TU Teaching Hospital

 

In addition to the various academic programs, Institute of Medicine runs the most advanced tertiary health care facility in the country through TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj. It has 426 beds and the state-of-the-art intensive and coronary care units. It offers specialized neurological and cardiovascular care services.

 

 

 

B.P.K. Lions Centre forOphthalmic Studies

 

In addition to the campuses and the TU Teaching Hospital, IOM runs B.P.K. Lions Centre for Ophthalmic Studies. The Centre offers the most advanced eye care in the country, besides conducting undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It is involved in the training of MBBS and B.Optom. Students (undergraduates) and residents in MD Ophthalmology programs. It is in the forefront of research in eye health.
